The School Day

For girls in all parts of the School the day begins at 8.35am with registration.

In the Senior School and Sixth Form there is an assembly at 8.45am on two days a week and on the remaining days time is spent with Tutors following a PSHE (Pastoral, Social and Health Education) programme. Lessons start at 9.05am and there are normally eight lessons in a day with the day finishing at 4.00pm, the exception being with Year 7 who finish at 3.25pm on a Friday.

The day in the Junior School and Alice House either starts with an assembly or a topic from their SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) programme. Girls in the Junior School finish the day at 3.30pm but there are many clubs and activities after this time. Girls in Alice House who stay for a full day finish at 3pm.

All girls eat lunch in the self-service canteen, or in the case of Alice House in their Hall. The lunch hours can be busy with times set aside for practices, clubs and other activities.

At the end of the school day if girls are not involved in after school activities, then they are able to take advantage of a supervised prep period until 5.30pm in the School Library. After school care for our very youngest is also provided until 6.00pm.
